To do things properly, one must first think and write out whys and whats; the requirements.<\/p>\n

Now, starting with the equirements from the user point of view.<\/p>\n

To be an useful alarm clock, the device must:<\/p>\n

  1. Show time<\/li>\n
  2. Keep time accurately<\/li>\n
  3. Be able to wake up a person from sleep<\/li>\n
  4. The wake-up time must be adjustable<\/li>\n
  5. Operate continuously, always<\/li>\n
  6. Must Warn if continuous operation is threatened<\/li>\n
  7. Fit on a bedside table<\/li>\n
  8. Be robust<\/li>\n
  9. Have easily accessible controls<\/li>\n
  10. Have easy to use controls<\/li>\n
  11. Provide feedback of controls<\/li>\n
  12. Provide state information visually<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    All alarm clocks have these features more or less.<\/p>\n

    I have myself determined that the improvements to surpass the standard will be in the following, as these things have been bothering me in the standard products:<\/p>\n
